Songs of Love and Dreams

Sunday, 01 May 2011 at 5:00 PM

Kraushaar Auditorium

Tom Hall leads the full Chorus and string orchestra in a wonderful springtime program including the Baltimore premiere of Eric Whitacre’s "Five Hebrew Lovesongs." George Friderick Handel’s exuberant cantata, "Dixit Dominus," which he composed at the age of 22, completes this evocative program.

A "Choral Conversation," sponsored by Bank of America, is included as part of the program.

The concert will be performed in Kraushaar Auditorium at Goucher College, 1021 Dulaney Valley Road in Towson. Parking is free.

Music Director Tom Hall leads Baltimore Choral Arts in a free, interactive performance designed for the whole family, including an audience sing-along to great American choral classics. This free concert is part of "Free Fall Baltimore" and will take place in the Main Lobby of the Enoch Pratt Central Library, 400 Cathedral Street. Seating is first-come, first served.

The chorus as a whole responded impressively. And when Hall drove his forces along in the most dramatic, propulsive passages, the results were truly stirring.
