BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Basilica will ring out with the joyful sounds of one of the city’s most beloved holiday traditions: Christmas with Choral Arts. On Tuesday, December 2 at 7:30 pm, join the Choral Arts Society of Baltimore for an unforgettable evening of festive music, cherished carols, and community spirit.

Continuing a 40+ year tradition, Christmas with Choral Arts brings warmth and wonder to the season. The acclaimed Choral Arts Chorus, under the direction of Anthony Blake Clark, will be joined by a brass ensemble to fill the Basilica’s historic sanctuary with jubilant sound. Audience members will also have the opportunity to lift their voices in spirited holiday singalongs, making the evening a truly participatory celebration of Christmas joy. This year’s performance will also feature inspiring seasonal readings by Kati Harrison, beloved WBJC host and longtime friend of Choral Arts, whose narration will bring warmth and reflection to the evening’s program.

This year’s concert includes several special highlights:

  • A New Star Carol – a brand-new piece by Music Director Anthony Blake Clark, written in celebration of his newborn twins

  • Our Merry Land – a reprise performance of the collaboration between Clark and the talented students of CoroLab, Choral Arts’ educational initiative directed by Kellie Zephir

  • Have You Seen the Baby Jesus? by Rosephanye Powell

  • New Year Carol by Benjamin Britten

  • Plus many more beloved carols and festive favorites

Adding to the joy, students from the CoroLab program will take the stage to share their voices and enthusiasm, celebrating the next generation of choral excellence.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of Christmas with Choral Arts this year is the opportunity to showcase our CoroLab students alongside our own chorus,” said Anthony Blake Clark, Music Director. “Their energy, curiosity, and creativity have been a true inspiration. Working with them on Our Merry Land and introducing new music like A New Star Carol reminds us that choral music is not only about tradition—it’s about fostering growth, learning, and connection across generations.”

The evening promises 75 minutes of uninterrupted holiday magic, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of America’s first cathedral. The performance will also be audio recorded for future radio broadcast, allowing even more listeners to experience the spirit of the season.
