Adam Frank

Interim Executive Director

Adam Frank is an arts leader and experienced nonprofit manager who comes to Choral Arts from a background managing professional theater and as a singer and music lover in many chapters of his personal life.

Most recently, Frank served as Managing Director of Baltimore Center Stage, the State Theater of Maryland, where he partnered with Artistic Director Stevie Walker-Webb to guide the organization through a critical period of renewal. He collaborated in shaping new education and community initiatives, spearheaded the development of a long-range strategic plan, strengthened the theater’s financial base, helped grow annual attendance by 96%, and supported 14 productions, including 3 world premieres.

Prior to coming to Baltimore, Frank co-led the New York City-based Waterwell, a civically-engaged theater and arts education non-profit focused on innovative partnerships with advocates outside the arts. He catalyzed revenue growth that doubled the organizational budget, led the company through the pandemic with no staff furloughs or layoffs, and, in collaboration with artistic leadership, developed vibrant programming partnerships with immigration advocates, labor organizers, and military veterans.

In addition to his work in executive leadership, Frank has served in general management, marketing, and artistic capacities at theaters and festivals on both coasts of the United States, including The Public Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Yale Repertory Theatre, and the Los Angeles Music Center. He is a graduate of the Baltimore City Leadership program and Baltimore’s chapter of Rekindle, a fellowship bringing together emerging leaders from the Black and Jewish communities, and holds an MFA in Theater Management from the Yale School of Drama and an MBA from Yale School of Management. Frank serves on the board of the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance.
